How do you start dating again after leaving a long-term relationship?
There is no cookie cutter answer that works for everyone, because it’s a unique journey but here’s an idea for where to start.
Hey Fluffy Life,
Whether you just ended a long-term relationship, considering ending one, or recently got divorced – I know that reigning question you have; “How do I start dating again? Where do I even begin?”
And I’ll be the first to say, the answer is NOT dating apps.
Before you “get back out there”, you need to do some shadow work. You need to work through all of the good and bad experiences you’ve had in this relationship. You need to take time to process how this relationship has changed you - for better and for worse.
This doesn’t mean that you have to be alone to heal. However, having the input of biased strangers you’re trying to get to know while you’re healing can do more damage than good.
Instead, you should use your time to focus on you, your needs, rebuilding your boundaries and learn everything that would add to your happiness.
You start dating again by first learning to date, love and prioritize yourself. You have to learn how to treat yourself with kindness, understanding, love and patience so that every new person you meet knows what your standards are.
You can learn how to do this and more in the upcoming course, “Emotional Intelligence for Dating”. This course starts in less than 24 hours and once registration closes, you will not be able to take this course until 2024.
Reserve your seat today to learn how to be happy and emotionally healthy regardless of your relationship status.
With care,
