How I received my Green Card in the United States in 6 months.
Hello Fluffy Life,
I thought hard about sharing this or not but I chose to share it,
I will however not share everything with everyone,
I will share the exclusive part with my exclusive members.
In January 2020, I received my work permit to live and work as a self-employed executive in the United States but COVID struck and I could not use my work visa till April 2021.
By April 2021, I had less than 3 months left on the visa so I had to renew it but I was at crossroads.
I did not want to relocate from Nigeria,
Everything I built was in Nigeria,
My mum was also there at the time,
So Nigeria was my life,
But in May 2022, I decided to do it afraid, I relocated from a country I had lived and known for about 38 years.
I was freaking scared but I knew if I didn’t do it, I was going to lose my work permit status and everything I had started building in the United States.
So I moved to the United States in May 2022. I stayed at an Air B and B for 4 months because I was still damn scared to rent an apartment.
Renting an apartment was meant to be the seal of permanence so I kept delaying it.
I however had to rent one to start building my credit history, set up my office, hire virtual assistants, marketers, etc
I was scared but I had to dive in,
I rented an apartment where there were familiar Nigerian faces,
Humans I like and trust,
Once accommodation was sorted, I had to focus on how to cross over from my work permit to a Greencard.
America is a very simple but difficult country.
You can get your American Passport in less than 5 years if you have the right legal details while if you don’t you may be here forever lost in circles.
And as a High Achieving Nigerian, I knew I could not be lost in circles,
I also knew all I have to offer is my golden brain so I needed to convert my brain to a Greencard,
The first thing I did was to apply to move from being a non-immigrant to an immigrant / Permanent resident.
This application process is the most difficult one because you not only have to prove that you are an exceptional soul, they have to believe it.
You know it is one thing for you to think you are a genius, it is another thing for them to believe it, and with the increase in mental health cases across the world, anyone can reject your application if they aren’t in a good mood or had a fight with their spouse.
But I structured everything I had achieved from ages 17-38.
I mean I broke down my life into pieces.
